I'm Mike, nice to meet you
I'm the founder of Nacht records and am a full time musician/music teacher in the NJ area.
I play the bass (acoustic and electric), guitar, and contra alto clarinet in a variety of styles.

I currently hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University in jazz performance. I've studied bass with Mike Richmond and William Parker and guitar with Mary Halvorson. In addition to being a full time working musician in the NJ/NYC/Philly scene I also play in my own bands Mothguts, MOFODiSHU, and Intense Men. I've performed and recorded with such diverse names as Herb Robertson, Gerald Cleaver, Daniel Carter, William Parker, Steven Bernstein, Marcus Rojas, Curtis Fowlkes, Blaise Siwula, the Outer Bridge Ensemble, the Coasters, Glen Burtnik, Vic Ruggerio of the Slackers, and toured all over the States, Canada and Australia with 60's teen pop icon Lesley Gore. 

I'm currently involved in the following projects:
Mothguts - I play fretless electric bass and compose. We play heavy grindy free jazz. With Ben Ross - drums, Anthony Ware - alto sax and Chris Welcome - guitar. MOFODiSHU - an improv/drone/noise band with Bradley Karl - analog noise, Max Ross - digital noise, I play contra alto clarinet. Our new record "Rhythm is for Gals" is available for free download.

Intense Men - an instrumental/jazzy/lounge/spooky/prog band with Ben Ross - drums, Chris "Sparky" Carratello - guitar, Steve Honoshowsky - bass, I play contra alto clarinet. Our new record 100% Intense is available here.

 WET WOLF - a some wave weirdo band with words from which i play clarinets and brick. Starring Jenny B - words, vocals, guitar. Ben Ross - accordion and trinkets
